Air-flush technology for the home
Boasting a powerful yet quiet 1.4 litre air assisted flush, touch-free operation, and a contemporary close-coupled design, the Velocity® WC and basin were born to combine water conservation with elegance for the domestic bathroom market.
The Velocity WC and matching hand basin are part of an innovative range of ceramic sanitaryware products currently being developed to bring elegance and water saving into the home.
Saving water is good for the environment because it has the double benefit of not only preserving a resource that is becoming increasingly scarce, but it also reduces the energy required to supply and dispose of the water we use (producing around 5 million Tonnes of CO2 in the UK each year).
Our work developing Velocity won the Institute of Water National Innovation Award 2022.
The use of low-pressure displaced air and a compact close-coupled design allows the Velocity WC to be installed anywhere in the bathroom to give a powerful flush with only 1.4 litres of water, saving 85% on average WC flush volumes.
The powerful air flush gives Velocity the ability to connect directly onto standard drainage systems, or to connect via small-bore wastepipes run without gradients through convenient cavity spaces, giving exceptional design flexibility.

This would allow homebuilders to avoid installing expensive and disruptive water recycling systems, while metered homeowners would achieve substantial savings on their bills.
In addition to saving water, Velocity's air flush removes more germs than conventional toilets and stops viruses becoming airborne where they can spread, and an infra-red sensor allows touch-free automatic lid lifting, closing and flushing.
The Velocity range is currently being developed by a multi-disciplined design team with over 20 years experience of working together to bring air-flush technology to market.
Developing sanitaryware for the home that looks good, in addition to functioning well, is at the core of our design mission.

Team Velocity were delighted to win the Institute of Water South West Area Innovation Award in Plymouth in 2022 and then go on to beat Anglian Water Services, Severn Trent Water, Scottish Water, Yorkshire Water and Morrison Water Services to win the National Final, which was held at the fabulous Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
As a small highly-specialised development team working outside the water sector, it was an honour to receive this recognition from such a renowned organisation for our work on reducing water consumption and sewage production in the home, which builds on our previous work developing the Propelair air-flush toilet for commercial washrooms.
